57th Street Report

Just steps from 57th Street, one of New York’s most iconic winter traditions has returned to Central Park.

Wollman Rink officially reopened for the 2026–27 skating season on October 28 and will remain open daily through March 16, 2027. Set near the southeast corner of Central Park, the rink offers one of the city’s most recognizable winter views, framed by the Manhattan skyline and the park’s changing seasonal landscape.

A New Season on the Ice

For generations, Wollman Rink has been closely associated with winter in New York. Its location inside Central Park gives skaters a rare combination of open parkland and Midtown architecture, with the skyline rising just beyond the ice.

The rink welcomes both experienced skaters and first-time visitors, with skate rentals, lessons, public skating sessions, and seasonal programming available throughout the winter.

This weekend also marks the start of Wollman Rink’s community programming. On October 31 and November 1, admission is free for everyone as part of the rink’s Community Days initiative. Additional reduced-cost and free-access programs will continue throughout the season, including discounted WRAP tickets and Culture Pass admission.

Winter Returns to Central Park

The reopening arrives just as Central Park moves from its autumn colors into the winter season, making late October and early November an especially striking time to visit.

For those living along 57th Street and Billionaires’ Row, Wollman Rink is only a short walk away, reinforcing one of the neighborhood’s defining qualities: immediate access to Central Park alongside some of Manhattan’s most recognizable architecture, restaurants, cultural institutions, and residential towers.

From an afternoon skate beneath the skyline to an evening session as the city lights come on, Wollman Rink remains one of the most distinctive ways to experience Central Park during the colder months.

Planning a Visit

Wollman Rink is located near the southeast corner of Central Park, with the closest entrance at 59th Street and Sixth Avenue. The 2026–27 skating season runs daily from October 28 through March 16. Visitors can book ahead online, and Wollman Rink recommends arriving up to 30 minutes before a scheduled entry time.

With skating season officially underway, winter has begun to return to Central Park — just steps from 57th Street.
