57th Street Report

The Holiday Open Street Fifth Avenue 2025 event is making its return this December, turning one of Manhattan’s most famous shopping streets into a pedestrian paradise — but for one Sunday only.

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, Fifth Avenue will close to traffic between West 47th and West 57th Streets from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can enjoy dazzling lights, live music, and festive food as they explore the city’s most iconic retail corridor.

Since its launch in 2022, the program has drawn thousands of locals and tourists. Originally spanning multiple weekends, it played a key role in revitalizing Midtown’s economy after the pandemic. This year, the Fifth Avenue Association is continuing the tradition with an expanded footprint and a renewed focus on holiday magic.

The event will feature holiday décor, musical performances, street food, and pop-up shopping experiences, creating a joyful atmosphere for all ages. It also supports the city’s long-term vision of a more pedestrian-friendly Fifth Avenue, as outlined in the NYC Fifth Avenue Redesign Plan — a $400 million project to widen sidewalks and improve accessibility.

✨ Whether you’re gift shopping, sightseeing, or just soaking in the festive spirit, mark your calendar for December 14, 2025. The Holiday Open Street Fifth Avenue 2025 will once again showcase the city’s creativity and community spirit — a true celebration of New York’s holiday season.
