57th Street Report
Oh yes, this is one for the history books!
Looking for something extraordinary to do this weekend? On Sunday, December 8, Fifth Avenue will celebrate its 200th anniversary with an unforgettable open-streets event. From 12 to 6 p.m., the stretch between 48th and 55th Streets will be closed to traffic and transformed into a lively, pedestrian-only party!
A Street Festival Like No Other
Picture this: live performances from Juilliard Jazz’s Duke Ellington Ensemble, Sing Harlem, and The Satin Dollz. Immersive art installations. Interactive experiences. Pop-ups from iconic neighbors like Tiffany & Co., MoMA, and The Peninsula Hotel. It’s all happening in the heart of Midtown.
A New Vision for Fifth Avenue
This milestone also highlights Fifth Avenue’s exciting transformation into a more pedestrian-focused boulevard. Wider sidewalks, safer crossings, lush greenery, and even more welcoming public spaces are all on the horizon.
Save the Date
This free event is open to the public, and the energy will be unmatched! Rain date: December 15.
All the best,
