A Visionary Addition to Billionaires’ Row

Sedesco’s latest endeavor at 41-47 West 57th Street is reshaping the skyline of Midtown Manhattan. With the demolition of 37 West 57th Street underway, the path is being cleared for a 63-story, 1,100-foot mixed-use supertall designed by OMA. This new addition will feature 119 expansive condominiums averaging nearly 2,000 square feet, a 158-room luxury hotel, and a signature restaurant spanning over 10,000 square feet—a true masterpiece in the heart of Billionaires’ Row.

Milestones in Motion

The Billionaires’ Row development is moving forward with notable progress:

  • Sedesco’s Expanding Footprint: The acquisition of 37 West 57th Street in 2023 for $77.5 million adds 87,855 square feet to the project, bringing its total size to 453,200 square feet.
  • Preparations Underway: The southern façade of the former Class B office building is now wrapped in scaffolding and netting, with interiors being gutted. Crews have begun constructing a hoist to facilitate the work ahead.

A Design That Inspires

OMA’s architectural rendering reveals a striking silhouette with a gradual taper on the northern elevation, perfectly complementing the curving setbacks of its neighbor at 111 West 57th Street. Key features include:

  • A Glass Curtain Wall: Facing Central Park, offering unparalleled views and an iconic presence.
  • Concrete Eastern Façade: Highlighted by a recessed glass cutout that follows the tower’s angular form, culminating in a sharp peak.
  • Hotel & Residences: Floors two through 20 will house the luxury hotel, with high-end residential units occupying the upper stories.

Enhancing Midtown’s Connectivity

As part of the city’s Zoning For Accessibility program, Sedesco is delivering transformative improvements to the 57th Street subway station at Sixth Avenue, including:

  • ADA-Compliant Elevators: One at the corner of West 56th Street and Sixth Avenue, and another connecting the mezzanine to the platform.
  • Modernized Infrastructure: A revamped turnstile configuration, upgraded communications systems, and a new elevator machine room.
  • Investment in the Future: $9.83 million allocated for long-term maintenance.

Looking Ahead

While excavation at the cleared site is expected to accelerate after the full demolition of 37 West 57th Street, Sedesco’s commitment to excellence ensures this supertall will become a defining feature of Midtown Manhattan. The combination of luxury living, world-class hospitality, and enhanced transit accessibility cements its status as a cornerstone of Billionaires’ Row.

Billionaires’ Row is evolving, and with 41-47 West 57th Street leading the charge, the future of Midtown Manhattan has never looked brighter.
