New York City’s love affair with pickleball just became official.
CityPickle — the rapidly growing pickleball operator — has been awarded a 20-year contract to run pickleball courts at Wollman Rink in Central Park, following a highly competitive RFP process led by NYC Parks.
According to CityPickle, the agreement represents more than $100 million in value to the city, including:

$91 million in cumulative minimum fees, and
-
$10.9 million in capital investment to maintain and enhance the space.
This marks one of the most significant recreational partnerships in Central Park’s history.
A Major Win for NYC’s Fastest-Growing Sport
Pickleball has exploded across New York City — and Wollman Rink has been at the center of that growth.
Over the past three years:

More than 180,000 players have visited the rink to play

The venue hosted the 2025 Major League Pickleball Finals, which sold out throughout the weekend
Given this momentum, NYC Parks’ decision underscores both the sport’s staying power and its broad appeal among residents and tourists alike.
CityPickle Co-Founder Mary Cannon celebrated the landmark agreement, saying:
