Let's Talk

Central Park Tower’s penthouse, previously listed at $149.5 million, has found a buyer. This 12,557-square-foot duplex condo, located at 217 West 57th Street on Billionaires’ Row, recently entered into a contract after being on the market since March, originally listed at $175 million. The finalized deal came in at around $115 million, marking a significant reduction from the initial asking price, according to CityRealty.

Positioned on the 107th and 108th floors of Central Park Tower, this penthouse provides stunning views of Central Park and the city skyline. The opulent residence comprises seven bedrooms, eight full baths, two half-baths, and a private elevator connecting both floors. The lower level boasts a grand salon with a 27-foot double-height ceiling, terrace access, and a well-appointed kitchen. Additional spaces include a family room, conservatory, library, office, media room, guest suite, playroom, and a staff room.

This recent transaction adds to the list of notable real estate deals in New York City, placing the Central Park Tower penthouse among the prestigious properties sold in the area. Developed by Extell and designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, Central Park Tower stands as the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere, offering a range of amenities across its 1,550-foot height.

While the buyer’s identity remains undisclosed, this sale highlights the ongoing trend of high-value real estate transactions in the city. Central Park Tower remains a focal point for luxurious living, featuring a private amenity club with 50,000 square feet of perks across three floors. These amenities include a private restaurant, ballroom, wine bar, cigar lounge, outdoor pool, sun deck, cabanas, fitness and wellness center, squash court, private movie theater, and a business center.

Central Park Tower made headlines in September 2022 when its top penthouse was initially listed for $250 million, aspiring to become the country’s most expensive sale. Although the asking price has been adjusted to a more reasonable $195 million, this recent penthouse sale adds to the dynamic landscape of high-end real estate in Manhattan.
