A cinematic piece of New York luxury just got a major price update. The spectacular 200 Amsterdam penthouse on the Upper West Side—featured in Succession and Babygirl—has dropped its asking price by $7 million, now listed for $31 million, down from $38 million.
The 200 Amsterdam penthouse crowns the tallest residential tower on the Upper West Side and offers breathtaking views of Central Park and the Hudson River. Despite the price adjustment, it remains among Manhattan’s most sought-after luxury listings, said Peter Zaitzeff of Serhant, who represents the property alongside Jamie Hannon.
“The new price positions it more in line with the market and comparable homes along Billionaires’ Row,” said Zaitzeff, noting renewed buyer interest since the change.
A Star on Screen at 200 Amsterdam
The 6,347-square-foot duplex has played a starring role in two major productions. In Babygirl, it served as the glamorous home of characters played by Nicole Kidman and Antonio Banderas. The same residence also appeared in HBO’s Succession as the sleek Manhattan home of Roman Roy, portrayed by Kieran Culkin.

Design, Drama, and Architecture
Occupying the 49th and 50th floors of the 52-story 200 Amsterdam tower, the penthouse was designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects with interiors by CetraRuddy.
It includes four bedrooms, four baths, two powder rooms, and a private elevator landing that opens to a marble-clad foyer and expansive terrace spanning the building’s full width.
Highlights include:
-
A living room with wet bar and Central Park views
-
A formal dining room and corner chef’s kitchen with panoramic water views
-
A bonus room ideal for a home office or gym
Design details feature floor-to-ceiling windows, white oak floors, 10-foot ceilings, and a floating sculptural staircase.
The primary suite offers a walk-in closet, a built-in bar, and a spa-like marble bath with radiant-heated floors.

Controversy and Completion
The 200 Amsterdam penthouse sits atop a tower that once faced legal drama over its height. When the building topped out at 668 feet in 2021, critics claimed it was too tall for the neighborhood.
A judge even ordered developers SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America to remove 20 stories — but that ruling was later overturned.
Now, the tower stands proudly near Lincoln Center, featuring 112 residences, with only four still available for purchase (two currently in negotiation).
